Who better to answer your questions about Dick’s Garage than Dick himself! We recently had the chance to sit down for a candid one-on-one with Mr. Glanzer. Hopefully this will help answer any questions you may have.

How did the Dick’s Garage business begin?
I was working at a Chevrolet dealership in 1979 when one day my dad came and asked me if I would come back home and help him with the farm, and as part of the deal we’d build a shop on the farm and I could do mechanic work also. I said yes and in January 1980 Dick’s Garage began.

Can customers buy new and used autos from Dick’s Garage?
Used vehicles only except if you’re looking for a trailer, we have a franchise for Vern’s Mfg.

What range of repair services does Dick’s Garage provide?
We do everything from oil changes and tire repairs to complete vehicle restorations. We have a full range of auto body, paint and glass services, along with AC repair, brake and suspension, and everything in between.

What types of auto restorations are provided?
Whatever the customer desires….and everyone is different. Some want their vehicle to look like new on the outside but don’t care as much mechanically and others want everything done from top to bottom. We can do all of the body, paint and mechanical work right here. We send the upholstery work and any chrome plating off to other places.

What is the biggest project you’ve taken on over the years?
Probably the one we’re working on right now. A 1962 Buick Electra that is a complete frame-off restoration. Absolutely every part of the car is either being rebuilt or replaced. It will be like new when it’s finished.

Can customers purchase things like tires or other parts from Dick’s Garage?
Absolutely! We have 3 major distributors that we get tires from. We can get nearly any brand of tire you want. In many instances we can have your tires the next day. We also stock new AC Delco batteries for many applications. We also have parts delivered nearly every day from numerous dealers.

Do you work with all major insurance companies?
Yes, we do. If you have an insurance claim due to a collision, an act of mother nature, or just a chipped or broken windshield, we will work with your insurance company.

How can a customer receive a quote on an auto repair or paint job?
Give us a call, email, text, whatever works for you and we’ll set up a time to look your vehicle over. Better yet, just stop in and see us.

Do you charge an hourly rate, or do prices differ for each job?
Many things are figured on an hourly rate but sometimes we give a flat price on a repair regardless of how long it might take.

Those who know you know that you are also a farmer by trade. How much time do you dedicate to the auto business during a week?
That varies greatly on the time of year. Either Alex or myself are available nearly anytime. Obviously when we are planting a crop in the Spring or harvesting in the Fall it’s harder for us to be around. Otherwise, we are open 8AM-5PM on weekdays and 8AM-Noon on Saturdays.
